Texas Stadium was imploded today at 7:02am. The Dallas Cowboys landmark was imploded to huge crowds at the good old “Red Cash Parking Lot” (paying $25 one last time to park there for a “Cowboys Event”). They say 5,000 cars were parked there. My son-in-law and I were parked at University of Dallas campus just north of the Stadium. There were fireworks at 7:00 am to start the show and then at 7:02 am the button was pushed and explosions from the 1+ ton of dynamite began on the west side and progressed to the east side. You could feel the ground shake and your body reverbed with each explosion. In about 30 seconds it was a cloud of dust with only half a dozen concrete pillars still standing. It is said that the land alone is worth $50m mil. Heck, TX Dept of Transp. is paying $16 mil just to store stuff there while they widen highways. Wow! Pretty cool!
